Queen Margherita:

The Pizza That Made History

In 1889, Queen Margherita of Savoy visited Naples. To honor her, pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito created a simple pie in the colors of the Italian flag — red tomatoes, white mozzarella, green basil.

The Queen was so delighted, the pizza was named for her. Whether or not she ever granted a royal seal, the Margherita became a legend — and Naples, a culinary landmark.

At Moderna, we honor that tradition with every pizza we serve: rooted in Italy, reborn in Austin.

We require 24 hours’ notice for all cancellations to avoid a fee. If you do not cancel within this timeframe, or if your party does not arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled time, a $20 per person charge will be applied to the credit card on file. By proceeding with this reservation, you agree to our cancellation and no-show fee policy and authorize these charges.
